LEC achieved a large-scale containment using the heat shrink wrap made by Alphatex. A building in Lyon needed to be fully contained, in order to do asbestos abatement. For this work, the heat shrink wrap named Securiplast has been used. The advantage of this specific film ? It got a fire retardant treatment, which makes the film ‘M1’. Securiplast, the heat shrink wrap for asbestos abatement
Heat shrink wrap is the perfect solution to fully contain a worksite on scaffoldings. Indeed, it allows you to create a “waterproof, dustproof and airproof” environment. Therefore, workers can safetly do the adbestos removal.
Furthermore, heat shrink wrap can be used in other applications. For example, you can protect large objects for the transport and storage, to winterize a boat or to wrap modules and large items.
Many sites of Lyon Part-Dieu, in France, are under construction. In this area, a large building is currently contained for asbestos abatement, before its demolition.
The containment of the building has been made by the company LEC, one of Alphatex’s partners. They decided to trust the quality of our heat shrink wrap. Therefore, they used the Securiplast. And they made the good choice because, as you can see on the pictures below, the result is astonishing.
The SECURIPLAST is a heat shrink wrap made for many applications. Thanks to the fire retardant treatmant added in the film, it cannot burst into flames. According to the French standards, Securiplast is a ‘M1’ film. It means that it is a non-flammable combustible material.
