[VIDEO] HOW TO INSTALL ALPHATEX CLIMATIC NETTING : CLIMATEX

In this video, find out why CLIMATEX netting, manufactured by Alphatex, is the climatic net you need. Indeed, our climate net has an ideal weight (42 g/m²) to combine effective protection against the climatic hazards, while being enough light for plants to lift it as they grow. We also explain the method to follow to install your net perfectly, and to be sure that the dimensions are respected.

Why choose CLIMATEX and how to install it properly ?

Introduction

Hello and welcome to Alphatex. Today we are going to introduce you to our climatic net: CLIMATEX

Why choose the Alphatex climatic netting ?

CLIMATEX is a climatic net, which aims to recreate the ideal conditions for each crop.

It should be used when frosts appear, to conserve heat. It is the ideal product for the beginning and end of the season.

Products that can be used in place of CLIMATEX are forcing sails. These forcing sails are very closed products, non-woven, made from polypropylene. Polypropylene absorbs water, so it will become heavier and then must dry.

Because of climate change, we have cold nights, even light frosts, and hot days.

Under the forcing sails, you run the risk of developing a hot and humid microclimate, which is favourable for the development of fungal diseases.

In brief :

CLIMATEX is a net. It is therefore a more breathable product than forcing sails. It will provide slightly less protection from low temperatures. We will gain around 3°C under the net. But it is an excellent product for accelerating plant growth.

You have to know that our CLIMATEX net weighs 42 g/m². This weight was not decided at random. With a lighter net, 36 to 38 g/m², there would inevitably be more space between the strips. The holes are therefore larger. In addition to limiting the anti-fly effect, seedlings may slip through the net. And the seedlings are at risk of being pulled out with the lifting of the net. A lighter net will also reduce the climatic effect of the net, which means a decreased yield. A lighter net will mean a loss of mechanical strength and will be less effective in the time.

Our CLIMATEX, with its 42g/m², guarantees you an optimal efficiency, and you will no longer have any of these problems.

Notice that when choosing the size of the net, you will need to predict a net slightly larger than the surface area you want to cover. This way, you will be able to adapt to the type of your land, have enough margin to bury the sides, and allow to your plants to lift the net when growth. All dimensions are indicated on our website.

And now we are going to look at how to lay it down properly.

How lay CLIMATEX down properly ?

CLIMATEX is laid in 3 stages:

  1. Mark the floor
  2. Unroll lengthways, but do not cut
  3. Stretch it out widthways and fix it

For our demonstration, we are going to use a 16 m x 100 m net.

1 – Marking the ground

First of all, we recommend to marking the ground of your land to indicate the 100-meters length. It is important not to exceed 100 meters, otherwise you won’t be able to reach 16 meters when you will extend the net widthways.

2 – Unroll the net lengthways

Then, unroll the net to the length indicated on the label. Here: 100 meters.

3 – Extend the climatic net widthways

At this stage, you will need to equip yourself with wooden stakes to securely attach the net. You can also bury the sides. But in both cases : be careful not to exceed the dimensions of the net.

For this, two people stand facing each other and pull the net up to 16 meters. Once the net is taut, all you have to do is plant a stake on each side. You can move forward two meters, tighten the net again and plant the stakes again.

Note that you can pull the net with all your strength, it is not likely to tear.

Warning

If you want to cut your net to intermediate lengths, it’s the same process ! You unroll it to the desired length, then the width indicated on the label before cutting. If you don’t do the installation this way, once all the strips are added together, you may not have the length indicate, because the net will not have been stretched correctly width wise.

Conclusion

By following this procedure, your CLIMATEX will be firmly installed and will respect the dimensions indicated on the label. Now, you know everything about the CLIMATEX net, manufactured by Alphatex. If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit our website www.alphatex.eu
